, This is actually a real Nintendo. The product is repackaged (import from Japan) as shown in the product photo. You can no longer buy new Wii Remotes for the US market. Reviews vary wildly between 'refurbished' and 3rd party Wii remotes, so I decided to pay extra and buy a real new one. The included batteries have a date code of 2017 so are a few years old. The binding worked on the first try and the remote worked flawlessly for a few rounds of golf. I ordered another one as a replacement. [UPDATE] I ordered a second one so I have a spare. Revain only had a few in stock and I didn't need it quickly, so I opted for the "ship from Japan" option. It was $5 cheaper and there might be people who need it tomorrow. :) It arrived about a week earlier than expected and was exactly as promised: a new controller for the Japanese market in the package. I installed the batteries that came with it, connected it to the Wii and it works great.
