After falling and landing on the rocks and bruising my face for several months, I started looking for a convertible full-face helmet. I found the Bell Super Air R ok. ventilated, light, including MIPS and for me the perfect convertible helmet. It's worth the price! I bought a helmet thinking I would only use the removable chin guard in rougher terrain, I find the helmet so well ventilated and light weight that I use it almost exclusively in the full face form. It might seem silly or overkill on less demanding trails, but it's silly not to have protection to protect your face and head, especially with a helmet as light and well ventilated as this, there's no reason not to have one wear. I wouldn't recommend using a DH rated helmet for big DH park days, but for harder rides where you need extra protection this helmet is great, or even if you're new to mountain biking the extra protection can give you Giving confidence even compared to more technical ones.
