Nail clippers for small dogs? Finally something that works for my little dog.

I have a five pound Chihuahua. She notices how nervous I am about learning how to trim her nails and she squirms. So I paid for a haircut before Covid. Since dogs can get sick during the epidemic, my dog and I gradually figured out how to safely trim her claws. These machines were the key to success. All dog nail clippers, even the smallest ones, were too bulky to reach their nails. She doesn't tolerate clippers poking her toe or pinching her nail like a bulky clipper has to. They are designed for people with thick nails. They work great with my dog's tiny claws without scaring them and make it easy to position them properly on the claw to keep away from the thrill. At first I bought them for dewclaws out of desperation, but they worked great on claws. all nails. It's quick and easy and I can see where to place them. I tried them out in small increments, experimenting with trimming the tips of the claws to make sure these human clippers fit the dog. I will try again. Since this isn't a guillotine or anvil, I'm going to carefully align the edge of the nail clipper parallel to the long diameter of the nail's elliptical cross-section. It seems to work to prevent the nail from slipping and twisting while being cut, which can cause pain. So far, so good. I have a collection of four different sized guillotine nail clippers that I no longer use. If I had thought of trying these first, I wouldn't have been so scratched by long nails during an epidemic. I'm writing this review because there must be other people with small dogs, toy dogs, chihuahuas, lap dogs, and miniature dewclaws. trying to find a way to cut their nails. I will also do this after the epidemic because it's quick, easy and saves a lot of money and time. easier to use on normal nails, but. sometimes they can cause a burr. I went back to my guillotine shears except for the wolf claws until I mastered the technique.
