I wanted to use this in my basement before it was renovated. We had a few leaks that were officially fixed by the contractor, but it was still very damp in there. I figured it might help block water vapor and maybe radon as an added bonus. We have a high water table and a sump pump built into the foundation. I can tell the contractors are very upset that I draw this in front of their work and they made a lot of comments about how I did it like WHY did you do it? ! Who told you to do this? The basement got really dark and the floor got super sticky and sticky even weeks and weeks after it was painted, so her shoes made a squeaky crunch as they pushed and released wherever you stepped. I bought two large buckets of material for maybe $220 total and applied both and it took forever and I still see some spots where the rollers and brushes didn't get into grooves or seams in the concrete. I really only have one coat, maybe two in some places like the seams, from two large buckets. My basement is about 1000 square feet and 3 out of 4 walls have been painted (the rest have been installed and the windows are not concreted - the house is on a hillside). I basically ran out of breath as it was more intense work. then I thought. It also really needs to be painted over with something sane, as the texture shrinks just enough to be worth walking on or touching. It also made everything so DARK which made it harder for her to work down there. It smells awful and the consistency is like liquid resin to work with. It dries on every roller or brush and is impossible to remove, so you have to buy a million of these and use something new each time and then throw it away. to reopen after a few days and use again to continue or apply another layer. All in all I don't think I can recommend this stuff. Maybe if you spray it (I didn't have the right equipment for that).
