Retaining wall waterproofing

UPDATED REVIEW, from 5 stars to 1 star. I bought 30 gallons to waterproof my new 10ft x 100ft retaining wall made of standard 8x16x8 cement blocks before filling it in. If I had to do it all over again I would cover the wall with smooth grout before starting work. I applied the first layer with a brush in all corners, then rolled it out with a thick roller with 1/2 pile. It was too hard and wasn't filling the block fill, so I bought a $700 Graco airless sprayer and used a .017 tip. worked…

Easy water purification. Effective and easy to use.

I used this product after repairing my 80 year old primer. The house was built in 1923, and at some point what we locally call the "Michigan basement" was dug under the house. At the time, waterproofing wasn't a preventive measure and I had to do a 400-pound lime mortar repair. I used a RapidSet brand grout that cures at 6500 psi. After all this work, a friend and mason recommended Red Gard as a waterproofing measure. I wanted to use resin. Since tar on the block is not a code approved way…

I wanted to use this in my basement before it was renovated. We had a few leaks that were officially fixed by the contractor, but it was still very damp in there. I figured it might help block water vapor and maybe radon as an added bonus. We have a high water table and a sump pump built into the foundation. I can tell the contractors are very upset that I draw this in front of their work and they made a lot of comments about how I did it like WHY did you do it? ! Who told you to do this? The…

This is the cheapest way to waterproof your basement!

Considering the cost, the real high quality of the product and the "relative" ease of application on external and internal walls; I think this is one of the BEST products out there! I'm a retired Civil and Mechanical Engineer and well into my 60s, so when I see and use it I know and appreciate a quality product! I can leave my odd jobs or even quasi-big jobs like basement waterproofing to someone else. However, I am retired and have far too much time on my hands and this "caulking job" had to…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine
