I am new to carbon fiber cutting and this has worked well. I use a Stepcraft D840 CNC machine and here are the settings I used in Fusion360 for 2mm and 3mm carbon fiber. I hope this helps those who are also starting out. I didn't have to use "multiple depths per pass" for these settings. That means I cut the whole piece 2 or 3mm thick at once. However, you can create multiple depths if you wish. Spindle speed: 18,000 rpm. Surface Speed: 589,049 ft/min. Spindle speed: 18,000 rpm. Feed per Tooth: 0.000194444 inches. 35 in/min Linear Feed: 6.56169 in/min Infeed Feed: 6.56169 in/min Feed per Revolution: 0.000364538 in I also added it to the Tool Library with the following settings: Number of Flutes: 10 Diameter: 0.125 in flute length : 0.5 inch shoulder length: 0.75 inch body length: 0.75 inch. Total length: 2 inches. Shank diameter: 0.125 inch.
