2 days and $14 Saved Us $785

You can do this. Order the inexpensive parts, watch YouTube AND DOCUMENT EVERY SCREW YOU REMOVE. TAKE PICTURES BEFORE AND DURING REPAIR SO YOU KNOW HOW TO PIT IT BACK TOGETHER.Our Whirlpool Duet had power, but would not turn on. It made a click sound but would not start. The diagnostic test suggested the moisture control sensor was open/faulty. It was not. Further diagnostic testing suggested the Thermistor was bad/faulty. It was not. I test the thermistor with my multimeter. It was fine.Further research suggested the thermal fuse could be bad/faulty/open. My multimeter confirmed this to be true.I replaced the thermistor and thermal fuse and now the dryer is working again. A new dryer was $499 to $1200. We were a second away from "just buying a new dryer,” because it was the easy option.Whirlpool wanted $70 for the same parts.
