I’m a city and county firefighter in a rural area, I use this light on my wildland fire helmet to provide a good general purpose working / walking light.Covers a wide area and makes nighttime navigation a little easier than a single "spot” type light I’ve used in the past.I especially appreciate the rear red light (steady or flashes) on the battery pack, it helps us locate each other while we work - even if our backs are turned.lastly - using a standard (and easily replaceable) battery is very important. When we have LARGE wildland fires and supplies are brought in to rehab our equipment - they always provide cases of AA size batteries - this is perfect for my use !
