Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well built radiator

Fitted to a large converted 1999 Dodge Ram Van b1500 V8 Van. This is the only solid block of metal I could find at a more than reasonable price. And the only one you could get. The regular local brand stores only had a combined metal and plastic design for my van and at higher prices. There was a small issue with aligning the holes for the radiator mounting bolts with the holes on the van's frame. Three fit well, and the fourth didn't fit a little. I had to slightly bend a flange with two vises in a tight spot. I wanted to give the radiator 4 stars but gave it 5 because it is very well made. Also, when reattaching the transmission lines to the heatsink itself, I struggled to find an easy alignment. I bent a metal lead a bit and it was causing incredible retuning problems. That was the scary part. In the end, everything matched the transmission lines. These threads have very precise tolerances. I suggest having a very patient assistant to hold the radiator in place. I did everything myself. I am 71 years old and my assistant consisted of three elastic cords, a lot of patience, reflection, determination and perseverance. And my lady said I couldn't do it. In hindsight, I should have had it installed by a professional for an extra $200. But why should they have all the fun?

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
