NOT FOR POLISHING!

polishing. The density is too hard and the abrasive is too coarse. Density/Hardness is a measure of the amount of binder and abrasive grain pressed into a nonwoven. The soft density ensures better adaptation to the work surface and less tendency to stress or burn the workpiece. They are commonly referred to as 3P, 5P, 7P and 9P, with 3P being the softest and 9P being the hardest. I suspect the different colors relate to a combination of granularity and density. A few years ago I had a "green" circle that was very soft (3p?) and fine grained (#600 or #1000?). I wore it out and haven't been able to find an equivalent since. It would be extremely helpful if sellers listed the hardness/density and abrasiveness of their products, but to do so they would need to know something about the products they are selling. .

Pros
  • The wheel is made of fiber.
Cons
  • I wouldn't call it something else
