A family member has one in black that has been perfect for 4 or 5 years. So I received it in August last year. The purple model is on sale. So far, Ovente has had to change it twice because the lid no longer closes. I've just received a replacement that I only received last month that no longer works - the switch won't fully depress. This was for 4 months. Added one star because the customer service was great with fast replacement shipping - 5 stars for them! But they really need to get their manufacturer to control the quality better. EDIT: My family's old member finally broke and they got a new one. Guess what happened to her a few months later? At least it didn't start a fire.
