Installing a headset on a frame for the first time can be intimidating. The Park Tool website has very detailed instructions on how to install the headset, although it looks like you'll have to buy a few hundred dollars worth of their tools to get the job done. Many of these instruments can be improvised by searching the internet for methods. If there is a bike co-op in your area I would recommend going there first to see if they have the right tools for you. As for the headset itself, I've had it for three months now and it still steers smoothly, even after a small spill that caused my steering wheel to move 15 degrees off center. Races that protrude from the top and bottom of the head tube look. big and ugly. There are certainly nicer options, but at the time I had other components in mind that took precedence. It's working fine for now.
