Not ideal for 1990 S10

This kit is too versatile. They have a core body and a pair of ears that you screw to the body according to the location of your vehicle's mounting bolts. The manual clearly states which ears to use in which hole for your vehicle. This kit pushes the radio forward. That may be fine if you don't have enough space behind the dash for a full-size CD radio, like a 1990 S10 in my case. But I used it to install a discless MP3 radio that was short enough to fit flush with the dash, that extension didn't do me any good. My main complaint is that for my application there are only two screws in the truck to mount the radio. And they are far from the shell. This leaves me with only two very long ears on the sides. Because the ears are so long, the radio is very weak and will bend and walk a lot when you press the radio buttons. So bad that I'll probably remove the ears and just glue the body from this kit to the hole in the dash. If it wasn't as bad as my particular case, I would have given it a solid four stars.
