Works great for GM Truck - DVD In-Dash

I installed a DVD player with a 7 inch screen that retracts into the dashboard. The only problem is that on a 1988 thru 1999 GM truck the dash cover hangs down and prevents the DVD screen from fully extending. The 7/8 inch extension this adapter adds fixed this problem. I can't say enough good things about this set! It's strong enough to hold a powerful single DIN DVD radio and easy to install.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Protection

Works best as intended in a car AV setup

Works well, fits well but not perfect. Also included were many screws and plastic mold sets. It got a little harder to find the exact part you need, but having extra parts you don't need is better than not having them. Overall a good purchase and I recommend it. PS: This kit will also work on Saturn vehicles, they just don't show up on the Revain website.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Updates

Not ideal for 1990 S10

This kit is too versatile. They have a core body and a pair of ears that you screw to the body according to the location of your vehicle's mounting bolts. The manual clearly states which ears to use in which hole for your vehicle. This kit pushes the radio forward. That may be fine if you don't have enough space behind the dash for a full-size CD radio, like a 1990 S10 in my case. But I used it to install a discless MP3 radio that was short enough to fit flush with the dash, that extension…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Does not fit as described

I bought this because it said it would fit a 1996 Buick Century. In the end it worked for me, but I had to drill new holes with this brand new part and the brackets supplied did not fit as described in the instructions. I had to use the factory mounts. The only positive was that it lengthened the radio just enough to fit in the dash. My biggest complaint is that it didn't fit as described.

Pros
  • High quality ABS automotive construction
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Suitable for car AV installation

I bought this head unit for my 1992 s10. I've always had trouble installing it on the square bodied S10 as aftermarket head units tend to go too far into the dash, usually the HVAC ducts. However, installing a secondary unit with this kit resolved this issue. The 7/8" extension allows enough room for the main unit and wiring to fit neatly without having to push everything together. The instructions were easy to follow and the little plastic parts only broke when you really wanted them to…

Pros
  • With Scosche Lifetime Warranty & Lifetime Tech Support
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Fits my 1996 Chevy Lumina

Before deciding on a dashboard kit for your car, first check the manufacturer's website for the exact specifications of which kit is suitable for your car. It was actually quite an intimidating purchase for me as almost every dash had 2-3 people saying it didn't fit when it said it did. I've never done this before and didn't even take apart part of my machine, a complete novice (me) was able to install this. My main criticism of this product was the instructions. They're pretty badly written…

Pros
  • Easy to install. No special tools are required. Includes step-by-step instructions
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
