Review on Sparkle and Shine with Sure-Grip Stardust Glitter Roller Skate by Emanuel Guffey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good skates, great wheels but no ankle padding

Update: 5/2020 I've had these skates for 3 years now. I usually only use them on an ice rink. After Covid-19 I skated a lot outside and tried to learn tricks. I felt I really needed to update my review. The skates have held up really well and I love the wheels, they work really well outdoors too. BUT, the boots have never been broken in as they are made of very hard vinyl. One day (early April 2020) I put on my socks and decided to do a quick 15 minutes. Ice scating. I had severe cuts around my left ankle (dominant leg) as there was no padding. The cuts were so bad I had them for over a month. Now I just wear thick socks and fold them around my ankle pieces for extra padding when I skate in them outside. All in all they are nice skates with good wheels and a decent price which is why I give them 4 stars. Knowing what I know now, a little over 2 years ago I could have spent a little more money and opted for skates with ankle padding. Original Rating: 2018 I give these skates 5 stars not only for looks but for their overall indoor and outdoor performance. I wear women's shoes 6.5-7 depending on the brand/style. I bought Mens6/Womens 7 and they fit great. I've worn these skates 3 times and the longest was 2 hours of indoor roller skating. My legs didn't hurt at all afterwards. I've also worn them outdoors in some of the crappy pavement and road conditions (cracks, rocks, uneven surfaces, horrible, horrible tarmac) and these skates have performed fantastically. My daughter chose a different brand of indoor and outdoor skates. She didn't like her at all. Then she tried on my Sure Grips and drove them around the block. She said the skates were amazing and wished she could ride them.
