Review on ๐Ÿ๏ธ Stylish and Reliable: Viking Cycle Ironborn Men's Protective Motorcycle Jacket by Jonathan Olson

Better than expected

This has some good reviews and some bad. I'll start with the size. I'm 6ft 1in, 215lbs, athletic build and a bit of a beer belly. I bought Extra Large. Buy an XX-Large and ride both while actually sitting on the bike (2018 Ape Indian Scout 10" handlebars) and then decide which one is better. I chose X-Large. It was important to me that the sleeves are long enough so they don't pull back when I pick them up to grab the steering wheel. The big XX didn't do much more in that area but there was more bust size that wasn't needed.Lots of pockets, which I really don't mind much as I try to be minimalist when it comes to carrying crap my bags. But if you are NOT. Then that's enough to make you happy. Just remember, that the jacket is designed to fit you so things in the pockets can feel on your body.I traveled with it for the first time yesterday (1/27/19) in Haverhill,Massachusetts.Temperatures were low to Mid 40's and I can honestly say this was d he most amazing part of the jacket. With the provided liner in the jacket and a plain long sleeve t-shirt, I was perfectly fine. I zipped it up to the neck and attached the neck with velcro. He tucked his gloves into his cuffed sleeves and left. We took a roughly 20 minute drive for lunch and got to 60 as we didn't stay on the freeway due to the cold. It cut off the wind perfectly, and I didn't see anything through the sleeves, neck, or back. I really couldn't believe how light the insulation felt inside the jacket. The pads take a bit of getting used to, but you don't really notice them after a while and never while riding. I hope I never have to test if they work, but others who have commented have and seem happy with the protection. I have no hesitation in recommending it and would buy one again in a heartbeat if the need arose. I will update this review if there is any improvement in quality later if needed. But personally for 80 dollars. So far there really aren't any cons. Personally, if it was in the store and I managed to get my hands on it before buying it. I saw how I spent 200 on it and still felt like it was worth it. Maybe more but I don't have any experience with this type of jacket to know what to expect in terms of quality compared to $$$.

Pros
  • Hand wash only
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
