Ordinary sponges have many bad qualities. They don't last very long, they take a long time to dry and prevent stench and dirt from building up on the sponge, as they dry they become brittle. After a few wet/dry cycles, their time was up. They fall apart. THESE sponges don't have any of those bad qualities. The foam sponge absorbs a lot of water when used, but dries quickly when put back. There is no time for stench and dirt. (Hooray!) As they dry, they stay soft and don't become brittle or brittle. They just dry the way you want them to. The cleaning pad is good for surfaces but not for stir-fries. The side of the cleaning pad stays attached, won't tear or misbehave. Would I buy them again? ABSOLUTELY.
