Review on πŸ”¬ Kidde Radon Detector: Home Kit for Accurate and Professional Analysis by Rhett Fifer

Easy to use but expensive and no shipping

This test is very easy to use. The instructions are good, but the installation instructions in the kit were lousy. I remembered from kits in the past that they had to be a certain distance from vents, windows and outside walls and be 24-6 feet high. I felt this could have been better explained in Kidde's instructions. Put "tray" in the room with the paper side up. Other kits I've used have had to open the cardboard pouch and hang it somehow. I love the tray that just sat on the end of my footboard on the bed in the spare room. Very easy to use. Also, a zip pouch is included which made me feel good about sealing the test to send it back. That's when I realized that the kit wasn't prepaid. Shocked I bought the postage to send a fixed priority return mailing envelope which made this kit 75% more expensive than the kits I had previously bought from my health department (including return postage) . For that reason alone I give this set 3 stars. It was very expensive and did not match the test kits available in my community. I was shocked that I had to pay the postage to return it. I won't buy it again just because of the bad price. It works, it was easy, it seemed nice, so if you don't have any other alternative I would recommend this. But I recommend searching your community before purchasing this kit.
