A beautiful set that will grow with your children

I bought this set (apron, pot holder and hat) for my children just before their fourth birthday and they were and are very happy with the items. My kids were dying to help in the kitchen and I wanted to buy them aprons to encourage their curiosity (and help!). Most things are themed, most of them I didn't like at all, and only a few of them are cotton. I found Curious Chef's products and I was amazed: the bright colors are nice and appealing to children without being useless, they are 100% cotton and wash well. In short, they are attractive to both children and adults, without losing sight of the fact that they are aprons designed to be easily soiled and washed. I also LOVE the way they're constructed: Most kids' aprons seem to come in one size or another, and when my kids were 3 1/2 I really wasn't sure if many of the aprons would fit them. Curious Chef designed the apron so that the "belt" and "neck" loops are part of the same long, durable cotton fabric. The full length can be moved and shifted through the slits in the waist and neck. This adjusts the entire apron, from the neck length to the waist and the length of the apron itself (because if you decrease the length of the fabric, you also increase the apron). Aprons fit my kids when they were under 4 years old, fit them now (just over a year later) and will continue to fit my kids for a long time to come. The aprons also have a pocket on the front which is nice and functional, although we don't use it much yet because we have to wrap the belt around the aprons twice to tie them comfortably at this point, which makes things a bit more difficult . so that the child can access the bag. By the way, the chef's hat is also adjustable, with Velcro - trust me when I say it makes a difference. My children have different head sizes, both of them can wear hats without any problems. The mittens seem great, the kids love them and they seem to fit great. But let's face it, my kids are preschoolers and I don't let them come hot out of the oven (!) so mittens are "just" for fun and a great learning tool in that regard. We have purchased other sets for children's birthday parties and everyone has always been happy.ETA My children are now 9 and I am happy to report that these aprons still fit and work well for them.
