I bought two different lengths with wood finish. Everyone who saw them really thought they were made of wood! But they are much lighter and much smoother than wood. The longer pole doesn't have a center bracket - that was important to me because I'm using it over a sliding glass door. There is no flex or sag. I'm very impressed with how durable they are. My husband found them easy to install with the hardware that came with them. The only snag we had was that the coating was misapplied to the shorter bar and extended to the bar's joints and threads, making it impossible to reconcile. I cut the excess off the pole and that solved the problem. With a longer rod there were no problems at all. The large pole was very easy to assemble - it only took a few seconds. Once I cut the shorter pole it was just as easy.
