Just what I was looking for, no check lightweight hockey shoulder pads. They have some great things about them: lower shoulder pads than other options, ultra-light weight, and a removable bicep guard when you don't need it. There is firm foam padding on the chest and back, while the center of the chest and spine area on the back are protected by heavier plastic padding. They seem reliable for the type of protection I was looking for. The only downside I see is that the removable bicep guard isn't adjustable and doesn't have an ergonomic fit. It looks like it's on your hand. Not critical, and if it really bothers you, you can always remove the bicep guard.
