This IPG tape is far superior to any 3M tape simply because its adhesion is far more effective. It's "waterproof" which 3M tapes don't have, so it can stick to any surface like glass to hold the laminated sign in a storm door when condensation causes other tapes to fail. It also works well for outdoor projects where moisture is an issue. The success of its adhesion is based on the rubber content on the sticky side of the IPG tape. 3M Tape and other adhesive tapes do not contain this rubber, resulting in poor adhesion.
