Installed on 2012 Mercedes C250 W204 (NTG 4.5). Harmon Kardon radio kit. It comes with cropping tools which was an unexpected bonus. I watched a few videos of these kits to understand how to remove the skin and components. The QR code in the manual for my car had expired but I still didn't need it. This kit comes completely ready to use, no wire cutting or splicing required. There are jumpers that may need to be swapped (NTG 4.0/4.5). So, as you can see from my photos, test it out before putting anything in. Make sure all speakers work the same as the microphone. There are settings with additional login via your old system, which must be set in the same way as in the new system. The guide provides a factory reset password and steps to do it. I recommend taking a USB latch with a built in cable and plugging it into your console rather than just dangling the USB from the dash or glove box. You're already there to connect the AUX input to the weird Mercedes console connector. At this point you can remove and clean the console trim. I removed the standard USB and replaced it with a new one. Make sure the cables are routed well under the ashtray brackets so they don't get in the way of the sliding lid. Use some masking tape as the mount/frame will vibrate. Felt tape around the hidden edges prevents unwanted noise while driving. The bracket is as close as possible to the factory update. You can see I threw away the latch in the hole covers because I need to route the rear camera cables when they arrive today. Installing the wiring harness behind the stock radio was the worst part and took most of the time of the entire project. It's not their fault, but there's so little room behind the radio for an extra port. You may want to order a ground loop isolator for the auxiliary output to the vehicle's factory auxiliary input. I had one handy but didn't need it. It was a recommendation from another video I saw. I have no static noise or noticeable frequency hiss. The controls are adequate and the screen has good resolution and excellent response. I'll have to see if it works better with wired Apple CarPlay. I had an issue with Bluetooth skipping when playing music. Both in the parking lot and while driving. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and haven't had this cracking issue with other Bluetooth devices (Beats headphones, AirPod Pro and other Bluetooth speakers). So I'm happy with the device so far. I find the price a bit high, but there are few other options. Keep in mind that you will need to follow specific steps to set up this system for your specific vehicle and stock radio as it covers a wide range of compatibility. I would recommend this kit to the average enthusiast who enjoys this type of project.
