Review on Premium Leather Collars for Cats, Baby Puppies, and Dogs by Kevin Cota

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Too strong for a cat collar

Nice black satin finish. Very solidly built. Its metal hardware pairs quite well with a heavy leather strap in terms of durability. I measured the cross section of his ribbon 1/2 inch wide and 7/64 inch thick. Honestly, for a 10-pound cat, such a design is completely redundant. It seems to be better suited for a stout animal weighing around 100 to 200 pounds. I received this collar to use with the collar charm shown here (small size). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ B01G2J8OBO/ To apply this particular label it was necessary to make 4 tiny cuts across the width of the leather strap with a very sharp office knife held like a pencil. If it is rarely removed from the animal, this collar can probably be used indefinitely. Unfortunately, it's terribly intrusive in a cat. IMO, when seen on a cat, it screams casual disregard for the animal's comfort. So this collar will only be temporary until I find a replacement that can accept the above brand. I receive either a finished collar with braided nylon webbing and a smooth plastic clasp, or a piece of leather belt (7/16" wide x 3/32" thick) that I can use to create a custom enhanced cat. a collar with a plastic clasp removed from another cat collar.
