Premium Leather Collars for Cats, Baby Puppies, and Dogs Review

My cat has been wearing this collar for about a month. It's a beautiful color and it suited him (a big cat) perfectly. However, after about a month of indoor and outdoor wear, the entire collar is exposed, revealing the white material underneath the skin (possibly covered in leather). I was very disappointed that this collar was smashed so quickly because initially I really liked it.

When I last bought this collar, the thread came loose and got stuck in my cat's mouth. He sawed through his jaw, leaving an indelible scar. I noticed this when I came home from work and saw blood on his face. The photo was taken a few weeks later, so basically everything has healed. Be careful and check the quality before dressing your pet!

So don't be fooled by the product description, this is NOT a leather collar, but a leather substitute or plastic leather. I got this for our cat and within 3 days parts of the paint layer were peeling off. A week later it looked like it was a 10 year old collar. I ended up throwing it in the trash and bought a real leather collar elsewhere at Revain for the same price.

First of all, it's not leather. I didn't see any leather details. I bought a few of these because I have some wild little panthers that fight a lot and keep destroying them for months. These don't stand up - the skin will stand up. I know the leather will scratch, but the stuff in those rags is strewn all over the place. If you only have one cat or cats that don't fight like mine, this isn't a bad collar.

My furry friend doesn't like collars very much and usually tries to pull them off which causes them to disintegrate. However, this collar never seemed to bother her and held up great! I love that the color contrasts with her gray fur, that she can't sneak up on me and run outside because the bell didn't fall, and that everything held up while the others didn't. I would recommend for indoor cats, not for the street as there is no separation and I plan on buying at least one more.

I realize this is a nitpick on my part but the stitching on the collar in the advertised image is the exact same color as the rest of the collar. However, the collar I received has a much lighter stitching which changes its style/appearance for me and leaves me disappointed with the look of the collar itself. Warning - this collar is NOT LEATHER. This is a scam. I ordered this expecting to have something nice for my cat and was given a cheap faux leather collar which not only is not leather but is unusable as it is too long for my adult cat. I bought this for my 7 year old black cat as her old color has changed and the colour looks good against the background of her dark fur. I love that the color is presented well on the website (I chose turquoise blue) and it matches perfectly. It's easy to put on and has the right proportions (no "hanging" long ends like some collars).
