Review on 📷 Amcrest AWC897 4K Webcam with Privacy Cover, USB Camera for PC/Desktop & Laptop, HD Streaming Webcam with Mic, Wide Angle Lens & Superior Low Light Sensor by Darin Brooks

I currently work from home like many other people (although all the time now 😕) and needed a reliable webcam (note I don't use one webcam mic (I rock my unfashionable but obligatory Sennheiser headset for that) as my laptop's camera and an old Logitech webcam couldn't handle it. They just didn't deliver the same quality (particularly because of 720p versus 4K like this webcam) as the other members of my team, so I felt I had to compete without breaking the bank. As soon as I started using it, everyone immediately noticed how great the image quality is. While the Amcrest 4K webcam wasn't cheap, I definitely didn't find it expensive compared to what some of my team members were paying for other brands of webcams. The image quality is truly the best I've seen compared to any other I've seen in my Teams meetings. What I really like is the reduced field of view compared to the wide angle of most other cameras I've owned or seen. A wide angle is fine for a conference room, but not for the distinctive views that are common at the time. I didn't notice any of the distortion I've always experienced with this webcam. My only complaint (not really a complaint as my camera placement isn't exactly optimal) would be how it automatically adjusts the light levels in your rooms. I have "Pot Lights" in my home office and one of them shines directly over my head - this reduces the webcam exposure and darkens the image. But I just turn those lights off and the image exposure looks perfect. At least that's a testament to its great low-light setup. The main reason I originally bought an Amcrest branded webcam is because I currently have many Amcrest IP cameras that have proven to be excellent in every way, so I figured this webcam would offer the same capabilities. What I can attest to is that it was a wise choice and an easy decision. For your health!
