Useless without an invisible code

I can't activate it because it requires an activation code which appears to be written on a card that comes in the box. There were many small items in the box, but I could not find a security card or any information on what this mysterious card looks like. There are many numbers on the camera itself, but none of them look like an activation code. Either this is a very clever scam or their packaging/instructions are terrible.
