Review on Amateur Dual Band Antenna 140 170 Centimeters by Rusty Calcara

Nice little set! (WORKS GREAT!)

Very happy with this kit! lots of coax for my setup on a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee if you're interested. I installed it on the roof at the back of the car, it needs to be drilled a 3/4 hole. I then put a pl-259 connector in the hole and routed it through the hanger under the headliner to the front of my car. . There was more than enough wire, I had to pull it back a bit and put it in a wider loop (never wrap extra coax around it), the NMO mount worked great and sealed well! The antenna also comes with another large rubber washer that is placed between the base of the antenna and the body of your car, sealing it even more! Also protects the paint. So far the sound reception has been crisp and clear, when I can hear people talking over the repeaters I haven't been able to get a signal report from another radio amateur as my license isn't up to date in the FCC database but when will it be, I will will call and get some signal reports and then i will update this review! The beautiful antenna has a quality feel and if you pay attention, a very similar TRAM antenna is used on some police cars! Build quality is great! . back to the updated transmission reports overview !*** UPDATE **** As promised, my FCC license is finally updated on the uls system and I was able to talk to this antenna on my mobile device! and I have to say I'm thrilled! I have received signal reports saying they are getting sound from my device and this antenna is very clear and crisp! I can only recommend this antenna!
