Cheap plastic but fun and functional.

The product was about the quality I expected from a cheap plastic circuit board and parts. It arrived damaged (see picture) but still works and not worth returning. Looks fun, can't complain about the price.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not performing

The board is very small so the parts are .

The board is very small so so are the parts. My only issue is that the magnets need to be a bit stronger as the parts will move even with a light hit. Small bags are not provided for storing parts, so you may need to use small ziplock bags.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Expensive

The manual could use and update but still nice

Excellent travel set. My only issue is that in the instructions, the symbols shown on the build and in the manual do not match the plastic play pieces exactly, so it's a bit difficult to set up and learn at first. Also, it was a little smaller than I expected, but still a good set.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Not sure

Ok, but greased pieces

Good board and product. My only complaint is that the pieces aren't fully magnetic so they can slide off the board when tilted. Also, my pieces were smudged since they were packaged right side up. All in all a good travel and light recreational board for beginners; However, if you want a serious board, this shouldn't be your first choice.

Pros
  • It's okay!
Cons
  • Good but not great

SHOGI, SHOGI, SHOGI!

This is a really nice board and easy to play! It's just thick and strong enough to handle really intense matches. I recently gifted it to myself to while away the time on long drives and late night games and it has been a source of hours of fun with my buddies, if you want to get into shogi then this is it! Also comes with instructions in English so there is no language barrier if you are interested.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Was damaged

The piece is a bit small and almost glued together due to the magnet being inside the pieces. Which doesn't surprise me as that's to be expected since it's a magnetic shogi board. Just a fair warning that you'll have to break off the pieces as they are attached to this plastic model. Either as which I like to use it for travel.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Very weak magnetic

If you're looking for a relatively small and inexpensive shogi set, this is it. However, it is only weakly magnetic. When you place or move pieces on the board, you don't have the slightest feeling that they are magnetized. However, when you tilt the board, there is more than friction holding the pieces in place. The parts are injection molded plastic and are still attached to the sprues and rails. So if you want the parts to be clean, you need to use a sharp knife to remove any plastic…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

This is a good travel set but you have to be careful not to rotate it.

This is a good set but there is a problem with a magnet in the middle of each piece. First, the magnet is not that strong. It would be nice to be stronger. Second, it would be much better to have 2 magnets per piece, one on top and one on the bottom. With a magnet in the center of the piece, the pieces tend to rotate on impact. In any other game it wouldn't matter much. But in shogi, that means your pawn that was just captured is now your opponent's!

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • I will add later
