I have now carried this in my backpack through several airports. With a little finagling, I kitted it out so we could play checkers, chess, backgammon, Yahtzee, baby Boggle, and Farkle and cribbage (though that tiny board didn’t quite fit). Point is, the mat is great for any dice rolling or card-laying-down game and the zipper pouch can hold quite a lot including golf pencils or short pens. This board is great for traveling. I used to compete in chess as a child, so I may have different expectation than most people. I'm used to a tournament size chess mat and that's probably why I was disappointed at the small size. Other than that, I think this 3 in 1 game board is great and is perfect to take on travels. The product is of great value for the price and the games you can play with it. Minus two stars for small size and the craftsmanship can be better.

However, I have come to like the idea after playing the games several times. Efficient use of the pieces, especially for storing. Great little travel set. Item rolls nicely so it can be closed for travel and comes in nice carrying bag. Pieces fit great in zipper pouch so they won't get lost. Board does fold out easily and doesn't roll back, although not completely flat. This is a very well made travel game set. It comes in a velveteen bag to protect it, and includes two game boards and all the pieces and dice you need to play. I think it is perfect for traveling as it not only rolls up small, but also offers multiple game play options.This would make a great gift to a loved one who loves games and traveling or for yourself!

There are others that look better made, but they're more expensive and most only had one (chess/checkers) or the other (backgammon). Very cool roll-up travel chess/checkers/backgammon set. Extremely nice and well made, this roll up set comes in its own pull string bag which, itself, is quite nice. The set really is a "travel" set both in terms of its design and its size.it is small. I don't think I've ever seen checkers with chess figures engraved on them so you can use them as both chess pieces and checker pieces.but it works here.

This is such a lovely, well made set. My boys love both chess and checkers, so I was glad to find a small set with both options. The checker pieces can be turned over to play chess, so there aren't double the pieces to keep up with. I don't provide my kids with screens to occupy them when we're out, so this was a great alternative option. It would be a great gift for adults too. I'm very please with it.

This is a perfect travel set to keep in the car or a suitcase. The craftsmanship is great and rolls up nicely for storage. The different pieces seem to be printed/painted on the beads instead of carved or embossed, I'm sure down the years one might rub off. The board doesn't lay flat because the material is so soft and it wrapped around itself, I usually weigh it down on one side as you can see. I was very pleasantly surprised by how well-made this game set was when it arrived. The board is double-sided for backgammon and then for checkers/chess. It comes with all the game pieces in this great zipper pouch attached to the board. It rolls up and comes with straps that snap and then a velvet bag. This hand-sized Backgammon from Woodronic is an imminently gift-table version or travel-ready version of the antique board game.
