Review on ๐Ÿ”จ RESQMEยฎ Resqhammer: A Cutting-Edge Emergency Hammer for Modern Safety by Brad Knierim

Modern version of the original rescue hammer

This is our fourth rescue hammer. We have one in each car plus a few extras in our 15 seater van due to length. This model is definitely my favorite. Looks good in the car, noticeable in an emergency but not flashy like bright orange. Unlike older models that snap into a black plastic shell larger than the hammer itself, this one snaps onto an unobtrusive mount. It's much easier to hold than the standard orange hammers. Not only is the handle larger, it also holds your hand more securely with a piece of plastic that also doubles as knuckle protection in the event of a situation where a window needs to be broken. This updated version retains the seat belt cutting feature. I had a chance to try it out on an expired car seat that we wanted to render unusable before dumping it on the curb. He cut through the straps more easily than I expected. A tape cutter is actually a razor blade set in a groove to keep it off your fingers. It is accessible so it cannot be attached next to a child seat, but is still very safe to use.

Pros
  • Effectively cuts seat belts and smashes car windows.
Cons
  • Low repairability
