UPDATE: I contacted the company who explained problems with the welding and that the steering wheel would not stay in place. I sent a photo and everything. They sent us a new bike. It wasn't about that. Now we have problem number 3. The pedal keeps falling off. The plastic is worn and keeps falling off. We've tried everything we can think of to "fix" it, but it still doesn't work. It's annoying because this bike isn't the cheapest and the quality isn't there but we can't take it from our son as he really loves this bike. We continue to refine it and try to keep it rideable. do yourself a favor Spend more money and BUY AMERICAN! I will contact the company again, they must know (not that they care). For the money we paid for this product I really expected more. We bought this instead of others because we felt we could trust Schwinn, the big name when it comes to bikes. Unfortunately we were wrong. I'm not usually the type to write bad reviews but people need to know the truth before they like us and spend money on a disappointing trike. Our son is 2 years old. We just assembled this tricycle. First, the front wheel is crooked, the husband says the weld is bad. Second, the handles will NOT stay in place. If he turns to the right, the steering wheel remains turned. He steers the steering wheel almost completely to the side. It's so frustrating. He was so excited to ride it we let him do it, but every time he spins we have to stop him to get the handlebars right again. VERY disappointing purchase! I will leave this review for others but also contact the company itself.
