I really like that it doesn't add weight to my iPad. My iPad is very thin and light and I love it. That compensates very well. I also have a keyboard and thought for a while which would be better before realizing that both are good in their own way. My keyboard case is significantly heavier and bulkier. But if I want my iPad to work like a laptop, I need it. However, I don't want my iPad to be like this all the time and this case is perfect for that. I can go to bed, play quizzes, read, etc. without being overweight. I also prefer this case when placed on a treadmill or elliptical, although my keyboard case also fits. I like that it's clear on the back. So this is as close to a bare iPad as you can get with "some" protection. It has a place for a pencil, but not all pencils may fit in it. The first didn't fit. Fits the second pencil I bought. It's called Stylus Pen for iPad. Usual, I know. But that's what it says on the packaging. It looks like a second generation pencil.
