Despite being told it's only for laptops up to 15 inches, I took a chance and used it on my Alienware 17r4. It's a fairly heavy laptop and the weight is fairly even, so the base is solid. The stand is well centered leaving a 25%/50%/25% weight distribution across the stand and you cannot plan the stand to avoid air intakes. better. The laptop's slight V-shape allows you to center yourself fairly. I lift both rubber stoppers. In general, especially at the "half-height" setting, it's quite stable. The product comes with a small case but just throwing it in a backpack or laptop is no problem, my charging box is bulkier than anything else. Best of all, both legs are connected and you never have to worry about losing one. Off topic: I currently have a Corsair k63 in a laptop with either a Corsair wireless mouse or a wired MX518 Legendary. Still the most comfortable mouse design for me! I can connect my laptop to a TV, projector, etc. and relax while it's on a stand. Also works great on my little Asus TNT-100.
