I used to buy an Anker A7611 which got a very high rating. It is beautiful and works well in normal use. However, I was recently transcoding HD movies (via Handbrake) and found that Anker was overheating and shutting down when moving about 20GB of files from the server to my laptop. I received this Syncwire 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter just a few hours ago and immediately tested it by moving 10 x 20GB movies from the server. This new adapter didn't miss a beat, reaching full gigabit speeds without getting anywhere near as hot as the Anker adapter. I will of course revisit this review if I find any issues after further use, but I doubt I will as the test I ran is as challenging as I can imagine for such a device.
