Celestron Hummingbird 9-27x56mm ED

Celestron Hummingbird 9-27x56mm ED Super small and light. An excellent combination of build quality and looks, size and weight at an affordable price. The optics work best at medium power. Small spherical distortion at low power. At maximum magnification, the optics also fail, including blurring (depending on the distance to the object, the further the worse, usually in hundreds of meters) and slight chromatic aberration. Overall though, the ED glass does a great job and the XA is only slightly noticeable at full power. Really excellent performance from 10ft to 40ft depending on the subject. I had no problem collecting light with the 56mm lens. Digiscoping is a bit rough because the engagement knob is right where all the adapters on the scope want to snap. If you want to change wattage with a clamp adapter attached, forget it. Lens caps are not very good. The eyepiece in particular falls off slightly. If you're worried about dirt getting in, I'd just toss the entire scope in a plastic bag instead.
