Review on Dorman 911 205 EGR Valve by Ashutosh Takumatla

I bought this as a decent replacement for my broken EGR valve knowing at least the Dorman name. It worked fine for 2 months then the check engine light came on again with the same error code: EGR valve. I took it to the shop and after looking at the oscilloscope they said the EGR valve was working correctly (and therefore not having any emissions issues) but the chip in the EGR valve was only slightly synced to the truck's computer and was registering faulty ones Voltage levels that caused the light to come on. After a $135 new EGR valve and an "upgrade" of the truck's computer software ($370 total bill), the check engine light is off (so I can pass the MOT) even though the Dorman EGR valve worked properly.
