A piece of scrap for spare parts

In less than 30 minutes on the truck I came across the code. The EGR valve is defective. The only reason I replaced the original was because I ripped the bolt off the pipe and never got the code out. Contact customer service and I'll do the legwork. Try this so it might be I know what it would be like to just send me a replacement. I've only been a mechanic for 40 years. what would i know

Undesirable product: Spare parts

This product failed after 6 months and kept setting EGR DTCs and I got my Check Engine light back on after only 6 months of use. It has 1 year warranty! I couldn't get the company to answer me to replace it. I am very disappointed with the product and the lack of support from the manufacturer and Revain to resolve the issue! I didn't get an answer from anyone.

Cheap Chinese junk

I installed this EGR valve on my 2004 Dodge Ram. As a result, the same code some time after installation. My mechanic told me to get rid of it and put a better one in. The tolerances for this piece of Chinese junk didn't work at all with my computer. My truck ran fine with no issues with the new EGR valve. Don't try to save a buck on this cheap bunch of junk.

Excellent warranty through Revain at least

Bought to replace an old EGR that had failed. At first the problem was fixed, but now after 6 months I'm getting a MIL reading with codes P1404 and P0405. P1404 says the EGR valve is closed. Will not buy again. PS Luckily the Dorman/Revain returns/refunds department was very helpful. I called around 2pm today (Monday) and just saw on Revain that my replacement would be arriving on Wednesday. Because of this rewarding and responsible experience, I will give Dorman another chance.

Good but not for replacement

I bought this as a decent replacement for my broken EGR valve knowing at least the Dorman name. It worked fine for 2 months then the check engine light came on again with the same error code: EGR valve. I took it to the shop and after looking at the oscilloscope they said the EGR valve was working correctly (and therefore not having any emissions issues) but the chip in the EGR valve was only slightly synced to the truck's computer and was registering faulty ones Voltage levels that caused the…

defect out of the box

defect. Although this part is difficult to disassemble and install on my Jeep (GC 5.7L), it would be better if it worked the first time. The part was defective from the start, causing half a dozen false trouble codes and had to be towed when the car went into emergency mode. I did my best with a voltmeter to test it before installing. It failed within two days of installation. I did not return the item because what is the point. After all that was said and done, the EGR replacement cost me…

Don't buy these causes. Codes

So I didn't need an EGR valve but I tuned my Jeep and this is one of those parts that gets replaced every time I do it. . I didn't have the code before, it was right after (P0406) I installed this thing. The old valve was still lying around so I removed the Dorman valve, reinstalled the old one and the code was gone. Still looking for a replacement I went to AutoZone and took the brand they are pawning, pocketed it and no code. After seeing the issue first hand I decided to stop by here and see

Decided! 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Code P0406 - Faulty EGR Valve

My local shop was scanning my 2006 Ram 1500 when the 'Check Engine' light came on. It returned a faulty EGR code P0406. Ordered this replacement from Dorman and received it the next day (thanks Revain!) Watched a video on how to properly remove the old valve and install the new one. It must be tightened to factory specifications to ensure proper operation. The task is a little painful because these trucks sit quite high although mine is only a 2x4 but is otherwise doable for the average shade…
