Review on Dorman 911 205 EGR Valve by Eric Chapman

Don't buy these causes. Codes

So I didn't need an EGR valve but I tuned my Jeep and this is one of those parts that gets replaced every time I do it. . I didn't have the code before, it was right after (P0406) I installed this thing. The old valve was still lying around so I removed the Dorman valve, reinstalled the old one and the code was gone. Still looking for a replacement I went to AutoZone and took the brand they are pawning, pocketed it and no code. After seeing the issue first hand I decided to stop by here and see if anyone else is having an issue with this brand, and unfortunately a few people. I'm wondering if these were remanufactured EGR valves that were remanufactured in some way? Anyway, complete rubbish so again you get what you pay for. Speaking of which, the AutoZone part was around $40 but appears to be of better quality, so I'd go with that for those of you who haven't made the purchase yet. For those that have, we have the craziest paperweight in the world.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Not Automatic
