Review on πŸ”ͺ Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener by Work Sharp by Chris Castro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love cutlery and knife accessories

I bought this sharpener after seeing a video about it and the person who designed it. I liked the simplicity of the design and the ease of use, but most of all I liked the price. I was hesitant at first because I had a Ken Onion Edition knife and tool sharpener and was quick to return it after trying to sharpen just one blade. This model may work well for some, but if, like me, you find it difficult to maintain a constant angle and move the blade smoothly across the abrasive, this can and will remove too much metal, causing the edge of the blade to heat up and discolour . . I've looked at sharpeners with this basic design, but most are much more expensive. I've been using the Razor Edge System for years and still haven't found another sharpener that can match it for edge results. This sharpener comes in four parts and is easy to assemble even without instructions. Its size makes it very portable. Abrasives are great for quickly cleaning up an edge or sharpening the dullest knife quickly and easily. Adjusting the angle is easy, but I simply placed the abrasive on the knife blade and viewed it from the side to make adjustments. The felt tip technique works just as easily once you have an established lead. The clip held my small cleaver style pocket knife in place. With a simple push of a button on the back of the case, you can easily rotate the knife from side to side. If I had the opportunity to make changes to this sharpener, it would be the following things: 1. Make the abrasives a bit wider. . At 1/2 inch wide, the sanding pad can easily curl up and lose flat contact with the edge. 2 - Tighten the sharpening rod seat. When the abrasive holder is moved up and down the rod, there is slight play in the rod. 3 - Make it easier to press the blade tilt button. It can loosen over time, but right out of the box I had to press the button with both hands. Overall I highly recommend this sharpener for its design, ease of use and very reasonable price.
