It is much softer than a shaved aspen.

I like Aspen Digs for my tortice. I used to use aspen but stopped using it because it is shaved leaving large chunks of aspen that are not soft enough for my Tortice Hortense. She will soon have 8 eggs, and a shaved aspen is terrible for her. Patricia.
