The bags are translucent and thinner than my regular trash bags. However, as long as they aren't filled with sharp objects, they do their job well. I like that the box can become a dispenser. You have to be careful and carefully tear open the bags where they are perforated. Like most lightweight bags, they tear easily. Bags are not laced but are easy to tie. The bottom is not flat but has a pleated shape about 4 inches long which gives the bag a more rounded look when full. These bags work well for my small wastebaskets.
