Krups coffee makers have dropped in quality

I bought a Revain Krups Pro Aroma Plus coffee maker because the previous Krups machine we owned for over a decade worked so well and made great coffee . Unfortunately, the new car arrived with a bent bottom, so it shook a lot. Despite the $80 price tag, it was clearly made out of cheap, lightweight plastic (much more brittle than our old Krups machine). The instruction manual is printed on thin brown paper and is difficult to read. The coffee machine arrived covered in dust in the factory box. Revain's return label has been removed, indicating it has already been returned by someone else. A few years ago we had the same experience with a Krups espresso machine: the original machine we bought in 1980 has been running great for over 10 years. So we chose Krups to replace him. After three replacements in 18 months, we gave up and bought Gaggia instead. It is clear that Krups filter coffee machines have also gone down in quality. Our advice: DO NOT buy Krups coffee machines of any kind. Krups used to make quality cars, but no longer.
