Love my dehydrator! It is almost identical to what my mother had as a child. I've only made fruit so can't comment on the meat, but the fruit came out perfect every time. Although the time I give it to "cook" has changed each time. I don't think it has anything to do with the dehydrator, more like the way I cut fruit or how humid it is outside. The only downside is the lack of a timer, so I've been known to wake up at 4am to check if my fruit is dehydrated. Also note that since the bowls are stackable, the fruit slices can be so thick that the bowls close completely. I made thicker slices and left gaps in the shells. It worked but it takes longer to dry.
