Review on Maximize Your Outlet Space With ECHOGEAR Outlet Shelf- Built-In Cord Storage, Room For Bulky Plugs, And Quick Installation With Hardware Included by Matthew Augustin

Sturdy, easy install, cable compartment is a great idea

We're redoing one of our bathrooms, which previously had zero shelf space, and adding shelves on the wall. My wife has a couple of rechargeable items and there is only one outlet (it's 120 year old house.) in the bathroom, and it's high on the wall. This shelf allowed us to place her toothbrush and ladytrimmer right above the outlet, and the wires are neatly hidden in the compartment. Just make sure you get the proper model -- I assumed that the bathroom had the standard outlet, but my mistake, it's got the GFIC type outlet. I found another place for it, but still, wish I'd checked my own memory! It's plastic (except for the metal shielding around the outlet) but doesn't look or feel cheap.

Pros
  • Don't let loose cables kill the vibe. Pop the top on the outlet shelf to reveal a spacious cable hider. Wrangle up the cord and it'll be looking fresh in no time.
Cons
  • The added weight and bulk of the shelf may put additional strain on a wall or electrical system, potentially causing damage or hazards
