Review on πŸš— Dorman 699-102 Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor in Black by Troy Early

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Perfect fit for my 2003 1500HD.

Replaces my 2003 Silverado 1500HD. Although this sensor failed the multimeter test because the resistance jumped around when pedaling, it didn't solve my constant "motor derating" problems. I kind of had a suspicion that the bottom of the three possible pieces wouldn't solve this problem, but I was hoping. Note: This sensor was installed on my car with torx security screws. They look a bit like a hex screw (torx looks more like a star) but the shielded version also has a small pin that prevents a regular torx bit from being inserted. I was able to drill through the post to remove the screws if I couldn't find Torx security bits anywhere. (Examples of photos are attached for clarity). You can check if your car has similar bolts before starting this repair.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
