So far, so good. It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be, but still fits in our designated microwave space.One caution, if you select Soften button for softening butter, chocolate, ice cream or cream cheese, WATCH IT because the softening will happen quickly, and for the butter anyway, it will start melting it while the entire stick of butter isn't quite softened yet. It did melt chocolate quite nicely, but again, WATCH it so it doesn't burn--I checked frequently and stirred the chocolate (the chocolate had been chopped into small chunks). Softening the cream cheese -- it did okay on this, but again, I checked frequently. Had I left these items in the microwave for the entire time for softening, I would have ended up with goop or burnt chocolate. I have not tried this for softening ice cream yet. I like that there's a kitchen timer included on the keypad, as that's helpful if I have something in the oven, but you cannot use the timer and the microwave for heating at the same time.
