Review on Myerchin Knife Marlin A009 Sheath by Devin Girard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It offers a great splash, very functional for most.

I've been watching the larger marlin spikes for some time. My main cleat I use is from Camillus, folding knife combination: Camillus carbonitride titanium folding knife with G10 handle and Marlin cleat, 6.5". It provides a great spike that is very functional for most spikes I make (like most guys these days, usually something with paracord and sometimes leather). Sometimes I need larger diameter spikes that can go deeper with a larger diameter. Sign up for Myerchin. Myerchin is a beauty worth looking at. Not small, not insanely big, just the right size to work beyond the maximum Camillus can give me; When I use Myerchin it almost always matches Camillus, start small and work your way up as the Myerchin tip isn't as small and is a bit blunter (making it more at home with rope). and cable work, which is also the intended purpose). As you can see in the picture the scabbard is "left handed", when worn on the right hand the bow will curve forward, not backward. It does no harm and is only mentioned for the sake of completeness. The sheath has an eyelet on the front of the belt loop which can be used to thread a strap through the spike's eyelet and effectively tie it to the belt, ensuring wet hands don't go overboard when it falls . . Perhaps what I love most about the Myerchin spike is that its surface is incredibly smooth, reminding me of the silky smooth polished finish of snap-on wrenches. It feels good in the hand and creates practically no friction, even when working with the tightest knots.
