I actually have an older Samsung DVD player and like other Samsung models back then I had a terrible skipping problem on a lot of DVDs. Samsung support was almost non-existent - I found out there was a firmware update for the player, not through their website (where I couldn't find any help) but through a friend with the same problem. HOWEVER, updating the firmware didn't fix the problem and the last thing I heard is that a class action lawsuit was filed here in Pennsylvania (which I received an invitation to participate in but couldn't attend I guess because I no more receipt). Given their poor customer support, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy DVD players from this company. In any case, players are much cheaper these days and you can get a great Sony or Toshiba for a modest price.
