I ordered this record player to put in my daughter's bedroom. She's into vinyl and retro/jewelry and she loves this turntable. She thinks it looks very cool. The sound of this player is not that bad. I mean, it doesn't sound like a good stereo with speakers spaced ten feet apart, but like I said, it's not too bad. Basically, it sounds like a pretty decent old-school boombox. Design-wise, this player is pretty good. It is almost entirely made of metal, so it is very durable. I think the only problem you might have is with the cartridge/needle. All cartridges/needles may need to be replaced. However, I am sure that the exchange will only take a few minutes. But luckily, you don't even have to think about it for years. If you are looking for a retro style turntable, I think this is a good choice. I love it, my daughter loves it and we both think it looks pretty cool.
